About Us

The village of Barley is situated in the borough of Pendle, Lancashire. The village is in the heart of the village between Black Moss and Ogden Reservoirs. Barley is at the bottom of Pendle Hill and so because of this is a very popular place for walkers and runners. This beautiful village has won the small village category in 1996 and the hamlet category of the Lancashire Best Kept Village competition in 2008, 2009 and 2021. It is truly an appealing, peaceful, serene place for any occasion. Within walking distance of the Hall, visitors can visit the two pubs that are on offer, The Barley Mow and Pendle Inn, they can also walk to The Cabin, where they can order a variety of homecooked food and drinks to sit in or take away.

Throughout 2023, 2024 and in to 2025, the Committee Members have been investing in the Halls future. Barley Village Hall is a not for profit charity. All monies raised go back in to the Hall for reinvestment. Over the past two years we have invested significantly in new flooring downstairs, we have refreshed the wood panelling in the downstairs room and completely redecorated the room too. We’ve had new air conditioning units installed upstairs and down, and we’re about to invest in brand new LED lighting throughout. Moving in to 2025 we’ll be looking to make improvements in the upstairs room including some building work, redecorating and new flooring as well as looking to improve the toilets and shower areas.
